Ben -
Indeed, I should have mentioned the 47th Ward's environmental initiatives. Perhaps a future topic could address this and other attributes of the City and this community's Green movement. You are welcome to submit your press releases (of past or future projects) to me at any time and I can re-publish them here with your final review and approval. At times press releases must be modified for search engine optimization and indexing purposes to get the Google ranks we are looking for (first page rank is our specialty). This would be free of cost for you. We manage /d develop this and many other forums nationally. Our atlantarealestateforum.com has become the leader in that market for news/ updates on residential construction. Our intention is to duplicate this success here in Chicago with our relatively new forum this year. Please let me know if you are interested in submitting content.

Sincerely,
Paul Stephani

Paul -

Another great thing about Lincoln Square is the community's focus on environmental initiatives. Local retailers and the Chamber of Commerce helped get a BigBelly solar trash compactor for Giddings Plaza, started a reusable canvas shopping bag program, and is working on a commercial recycling effort. Alderman Schulter's office has put a lot of effort into improving and expanding neighborhood parks, helped start the pilot program for "Blue Cart" recycling (to replace the problematic "Blue Bag" system) and is working on a pilot program to install energy-efficient LED streetlights on the Square.

The community has also been very supportive of green building efforts, including our Fountain View development at Giddings Plaza which will be one of the first LEED certified mixed-use developments in Chicago. You featured a rendering of the Fountain View in your blog post, but current photos of the completed building can be found at our website: www.fountainview-lincolnsquare.com.

There's lots of great stuff (environmentally and otherwise) happening around Lincoln Square! Thanks for featuring the neighborhood.
