Jim McMahon Sells Northbrook Mansion, Out For the Rest of the Season.

jimmcmahonThe Punky QB known as McMahon has left the Chicagoland real estate area un-injured.  A first for the often hurt Bears legend in his playing days who never in his 15 seasons of pro football, played an entire 16 game season. But that’s why you all got here on the double, to catch him doin’ the Chicago Real Estate Shuffle….

According to the Chicago Tribune, Jim McMahon has packed up his things, sunglasses, golf clubs and slippers and is heading to sunny Florida. McMahon sold his Super Bowl winning 9,626 square foot Northbrook mansion quietly off the market to a neighbor for $2.85 million. The sale was recorded in early September, occurred quietly, with the English manor-style brick and limestone house never listed with the Multiple Listing Service.

Built shortly after the Bears’ 1986 Super Bowl win, the mansion has a Y-shaped staircase leading to a master suite on one side and additional bedrooms on the other. Other features include a racquetball court that doubles as a basketball court and hockey rink, twin locker rooms and a steam room. Outside, the 2.38-acre property has a swimming pool and hot tub.

Now McMahon will have to watch his former team from afar with the Chicago Bears having their first real NFL quarterback in since his hey-days in the mid 80’s, in Jay Cutler.  Go Bears!
