Andy Shaw’s Chicago Mansion and Inn for Sale

Andy and Mary Shaw are selling their Lincoln Park mansion and hotel.

Andy Shaw

The former WLS-Ch. 7 political reporter and his wife have listed the 124-year-old Victorian mansion, located at 607 W. Deming Place, for $3 million. The couple bought the estate in 1998 for $973,000 and then rehabbed it into the Windy City Urban Inn of Chicago, a bed-and-breakfast with five bedrooms and eights baths. There is also a coach house with an apartment and two town homes available for extended stays.

Buyers could keep operating the inn or convert the 6000-square-foot mansion into a single-family home or condos.

Shaw, 61, retired right after President Barack Obama’s swearing-in ceremony after spending almost 26 years with Channel 7 news. Before that he worked at the Chicago Sun-Times, the City News Bureau of Chicago and NBC 5 Chicago news. He is now the Executive Director of the Better Government Association.
