Learn Skills, Make Friends at Wicker Park Palooza Party

You know that tray at the check-out counter of a restaurant that says, “Need a penny, take a penny. Got a penny, leave a penny?” Think about that when I give Learnapalooza this tagline:

Need a lesson? Take a lesson. Got a lesson? Teach a lesson!

Learnapalooza is a free, all-day festival in the Wicker Park neighborhood in which residents, artists and business owners share their interests and skills through free workshops that anyone can attend.

The party is set for Saturday, June 19 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. with classes scheduled each hour at various Wicker Park businesses that have been offered for the event.

There are tons of workshops involving exercise, cooking, technology, children’s interests and more. Download the class list.

From the Learnapalooza web site: “We hope the festival encourages all attendees to realize on how much they have to teach and learn from others hopefully sparking future connections facilitated by Learnapalooza’s partner project, a web site called CommuniTeach that enables people to freely exchange skills and learn from one another throughout the year.”

And hopefully spark new friendships.

Sign up for classes at www.learnapaloozachi.com.
