Sneak a Peak into a Suburban LEED-Certified Home
Want to see a completed LEED Platinum certified home right here outside Chicago?
The Gworek Residence, located at 842 Oakwood in Wilmette, will be opening its doors for registrants to take a LEED tour this Friday.
The energy-efficient home, which was designed by Holbert and Associates Architects and built by Scott Simpson Builders for a family of four, faces south to maximize passive solar gain, has geo-thermal heating and cooling with radiant flooring and forced air, and features a partial vegetative green roof.
Also mounted on the roof are solar thermal panels for heat and hot water and solar photovoltaic panels for electricity.
There are only a select number of spots available for the tour, so make sure you reserve yours today.
