Free Foreclosure Prevention Workshop Saturday
New statistics show that during the third quarter of 2011, 16 percent of all metro Chicago real estate sold were foreclosures.
Don’t become one of the statistics. If you are a Chicago-area homeowner who is worried about losing your home, it’s time to get some free help.
Governor Pat Quinn’s Mortgage Relief Project is hosting an outreach event in DuPage County on Saturday, January 28 to assist struggling west suburban homeowners in taking advantage of programs that can help them save their homes.
The Mortgage Relief Project offers homeowners free on-site assistance that could lower mortgage payments and prevent foreclosure.
In addition, according to the Homeowner Protection Act enacted by Governor Quinn two years ago, struggling homeowners are eligible for a 90-day grace period on paying their mortgages once they enter housing counseling.
This program is being co-hosted by State Senator Carole Pankau (R-Roselle) and will be the 27th event in a statewide tour that began back in 2009.
“By participating in this event, homeowners can literally save their homes,” said Brent E. Adams, Secretary of Financial and Professional Regulation. “The Mortgage Relief Project provides direct, tangible, and free assistance to homeowners.”
