Chicago New Homes with a Beautiful, Wooded View

Luxury New Home at Edgebrook GlenThere’s a little bit of country to be found amid Chicago’s big city congestion. Home buyers can combine the convenience on living in the city with the natural beauty of a country home on the Far Northwest Side of Chicago. It is here that you will find Edgebrook Glen, a community that has come to be known as a “suburb-in-the-city” due to its close proximity to forest preserves. At Edgebrook Glen, a development of 64 luxury new homes in Chicago, the secluded 11-acre site adjoins the western border of the Indian Woods Forest Preserve, providing beautiful, wooded views not commonly found within the city limits.

Another leafy Northwest Side alternative is Cornelia Court, a 63-unit townhome development in West Roscoe Village that has its own 10,650 square foot private park nestled within the 2.4-acre development at Cornelia and Sacramento avenues on the Northwest Side. (Continued…)

NEW HBAI Governmental Affairs Update

The political infighting continued earlier this month between Governor Rod Blagojevich, Senate President Emil Jones, & House Speaker Michael Madigan. The three politicos continue to lock horns over the specific language in the Energy Conservation Code.

The bills in question are SB526 & HB1842. After the House Bill passed the Senate, Michael Madigan halted it because it still didn’t contain specific language regarding Legislative approval of Development Board authority regarding the Code. So, HBAI and the other stakeholders added the required language and the bill passed in the House only to have Emil Jones refuse to advance it specifically because it contained the language Madigan had demanded.

So, ultimately both Bills failed, and Illinois has still failed to adopt statewide energy efficiency standards for residential construction.
